On June 4, 2021, Parents Defending Education (PDE) filed a reply brief in IntegrateNYC v. State of New York, asking the court’s permission to join, or “intervene” in, the case. The plaintiffs sued the city and state, claiming New York City’s specialized high schools are systemically racist.
PDE asked to join on the defendants’ side to share a view the court would not otherwise hear: that of families with children in New York City schools who would be affected by the changes the plaintiffs want.
