Coalition of 16 Organizations Send Letter to American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten Expressing Concerns with the Recent Adoption by Two AFT Affiliates of Anti-Semitic Resolutions

On June 15, 2021, a coalition of 16 organizations, including Parents Defending Education, sent a letter to American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten. The coalition raised grave concerns that two AFT affiliates, United Educators of San Francisco (UESF) and United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA), adopted antisemitic resolutions that falsely accuse Israel of “apartheid and war crimes” and formally endorse the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. The AFT has neither condemned these resolutions nor demanded that its affiliates repeal them.
