Charlottesville City Schools’ Strategic Plan 2023-2028 includes a priority area which focuses on “hiring licensed staff of color.” It states that the “goal is for staff minority representation to match or exceed Charlotteville’s area demographics as measured by census data.”

Another priority area target includes “all staff will annually demonstrate culturally competent and equity-focused teaching practices.”
