Bloomington Public Schools’ (Minnesota Independent School District 271) “Student Teachers” policy states that the district and Superintendent will “give priority for student teachers of color to receive preference.” It also requires “building principles, or their designees, are strongly encouraged to involve, encourage, and develop student teacher candidates who are culturally diverse in order to fulfill the District’s mission to create a more culturally diverse staff.”
