The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which protects consumers from deceptive practices, has asked for public comments on “gender-affirming care” for minors. It wants to know how consumers may have been exposed to false or unsupported claims about these treatments.
Read the following statement from Defending Ed’s Vice President Sarah Parshall Perry:
The FTC has wisely called for public comment to assess the full extent to which young children have been brutalized in the name of junk science and progressive ideologies–those from which the whole of Western Europe have retreated.
These social school transitions are not a “neutral intervention” – something even the World Professional Association for Transgender Health” [WPATH] recognizes. And they are attended by a precipitous increase in the rate of later, medicalized transition. Calling the medical industry to account for its misdeeds will also result in much-needed educational transparency, and it will ultimately require parental involvement in any intervention taken on behalf of a minor child.
