On October 22, 2024, the Cato Institute filed an amicus (“friend of the court”) brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to hear Speech First’s challenge to Indiana University’s (IU) bias incidents policy. Cato argued that bias response teams, now found at hundreds of schools, chill speech and raise grave First Amendment concerns.
