On October 31, 2024, the Buckeye Institute filed an amicus (“friend of the court”) brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to hear Speech First’s challenge to Indiana University’s (IU) bias incidents policy. The Buckeye Institute argued that because “bias” under these policies can mean anything a listener finds upsetting, students’ rational response is to avoid voicing any opinion someone might dislike.
