On September 1, 2023, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas partly granted Speech First’s request for a preliminary injunction against Texas State University (TXST). The court blocked TXST’s computer policy as applied to students who are not university employees, but it denied relief against the discriminatory-harassment policy, which the university had changed during the case.
