Executive Summary
The nonprofit organization GALAEI recently posted on social media a call script intended to pressure the host hotel to cancel its contract with Moms For Liberty. The organization’s T.I.N.G.S program manager states that she was “instrumental in co-authoring the School District of Philadelphia’s Policy 252, which created protections for transgender and gender nonconforming students.”

The Policy
The School District of Philadelphia’s policy 252 states that “School personnel should not disclose information that may reveal a student’s transgender identity or gender nonconformity to others, including parents and other school personnel, unless the student has authorized such disclosure.” The school district also lists the organization on it’s LGBTQIA+ Resources page under “Local Resources.”

Researcher and mom Meg Brock called attention on Twitter to the social media posts of the group, “On their social media, Galaei QTBIPOC, asked the community to ‘Tell @Marriott to cancel their contract.’” Her post continues: “According to their Instagram, Galaei recently held a ‘Drag Clothing Drive’ to ‘help high school drag performers serve the best looks for their school show coming up.’”

GALAEI states that it is a “Queer and Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC) radical social justice organization.” It is “dedicated to creating access, opportunities, sexual empowerment, and economic development for all QTBIPOC individuals while fighting systemic oppression, structural racism, discrimination, and white supremacy.” It’s TINGS program works with local youth which includes “programming centered around drag and performance art such as Drag Story time, youth led productions, spiritual arts and community based events throughout the year.”
The organization is also featured on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s website.
