- Howard County Public Schools: “Thank you for your inquiry to the Howard County Public School System. By way of this email, HCPSS confirms that our schools notify National Merit commended students and semifinalists upon receiving the information from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. We are unable to confirm the exact date that the notifications were received in the mail by each school and distributed to students but can confirm that schools distribute this information each year as soon as possible upon receiving them and we are not aware of instances when a student in our system was recognized and not made aware by the school. This email serves as the official response on behalf of all of the school administrators who have National Merit commended students and semifinalists this year and in the past.”
