Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School seventh grade science teacher provides personality test to students that determines “romantic (or love/sexual) tendencies”; provides assignment with links to websites that promote “sex dolls” and “sex toys”

Incidents

On January 5, 2024, the organization Sage Ops reported on X that a seventh grade science teacher at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School in New York “had 11 & 12 yo students take a personality test that reveals their ‘romantic’ tendencies” for years and that “other class assignments included links to The Best S*x Dolls, S*x Toys, P*nis Pumps.” Sage Ops explained that a “mother covertly recorded a meeting with the school’s principal and a science teacher after discovering her son’s 7th-grade class had been given multiple sexually inappropriate assignments during the school year by the teacher.”

The meeting reportedly took place on June 5, 2023, at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School. Sage Ops continued to report that the personality test’s website explained that “children under 13 aren’t allowed to use our website.” The test would determine the “romantic (or love/sexual) tendencies” of students. In a second assignment of concern, students watched a video of “how the muscular system works.” However, the video is reportedly for a YouTube channel for adults. Sage Ops reported:

The video assigned by the teacher equates the way the muscular system works to “middle schoolers at a formal dance,” who desperately want to do some “heavy petting” and “groping” of each other, and it talks about “pent-up frustration” that explodes at “go time.” The conclusion? The only sexier than how the muscle system works “is sex.”

A third assignment contained links to a website that “states that it is for the use of those 18 years and older.” Sage Ops continued to explain: “This site publishes articles and reviews of things such as The Best S*x Dolls, Best S*x Toys, Best P*nis Pumps, Dietary Supplements, and more.”
