Gunston Middle School promotes STEM event for young women that specifically mentions “cis,” “trans,” and “non-binary” students

Gunston Middle School in Arlington Public Schools sent out a notification to parents alerting them that the “the University of Virginia’s Society of Women Engineers will be hosting Middle School Visitation, a half-day event on Sunday, November 15th.” The school notably states that this is also for “cis” and “trans” women: “The goal is to give young women (cis and trans) and non-binary middle school students exposure to engineering fields and UVA’s engineering curriculum through lab tours and interactive design activities.” The sign-up form also asks parents for their children’s “preferred pronouns.”
