Croton-Harmon Union Free School District promotes pride month to students with Yoda coloring sheet

On June 9, 2023, the Croton-Harmon Union Free School District created a post in celebration of pride month on several social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The district explained in the post how the “guidance department” worked with student activist organizations to host an LGBTQ event for students:

There was LGBTQIA+ trivia, a space for students to express what pride means to them, coloring activities, as well as the sharing of resources, information about LGBTQIA+ students’ rights, stickers, and treats (photos on slides 2-3).

The district’s post included a brief history of pride month along with images of students participating in pride activities. One image showed students with coloring sheets of Yoda from Star Wars. The coloring sheet states: “Wishing Yoda Best Pride Month!” The coloring sheet appeared to originate on the website “Highlights Along the Way.”
