Defending Education Urges SCOTUS To Strike Down Gender Secrecy Policies

Littlejohn v. School Board of Leon County, Florida, et al.

January and Jeffrey Littlejohn are the parents of a young girl whose Florida school socially transitioned her without telling them. After the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit refused to rehear their case “en banc,” the Littlejohns appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. This is their last chance to win against the school district that undermined their rights as parents.

Defending Education (DE) had already filed an amicus (“friend of the court”) brief supporting the Littlejohns’ request for rehearing in the Eleventh Circuit. In October 2025, DE filed another amicus brief, this time at the Supreme Court, urging the justices to take the case and rule that the “gender secrecy” policies spreading across the country are unconstitutional.
