Simsbury Schools’ “Director of Equity and Access” includes race in signature line of email, along with pronouns

The Director of Equity and Access in the Simsbury Public Schools sent an email August 29th, 2023 with information about the Equity Council. It is unclear how this equity council came to be and to whom, if anyone, they report. We do know that they do not publicly post their meeting agendas or minutes because they are “not a town governing board and so not subject to FOIA.”

A striking detail about the director’s email is the signature line: not only does it contain her pronouns but it also states her race: “black.”
