Regional School Unit 38 has gender support plan that questions parental involvement

Parents Defending Education submitted a public records request to Regional School Unit 38 seeking any guidance on transgender issues. The district provided PDE with a “Gender Support Plan” that separates “gender” and “assigned sex at birth” into different categories. This plan notably asks: “Are parent(s)/guardian(s) aware and supportive of their child’s gender transition?” This form also appears to suggest that students can participate in activities and use the restrooms and locker rooms that match their preferred gender identity.
