Pleasant Ridge Middle School librarian sends message to parents that the district does “not censor literature” and shares list of topics that do appear in the school’s library books

Incidents

Easton Unified School District 449 published a statement from the librarian of Pleasant Ridge Middle School. The middle school librarian explains that the school district does not “censor literature” and that “there is a possibility that your student(s) could choose a book in our school library that could possibly have some of the following topics in them.” The librarian then provides a list of topics that do appear in “literature” in the library.

Pleasant Ridge Middle School’s librarian states that the library’s books contain topics on sexual orientation and transgenderism.

She does not mention graphic images of sex acts but those would likely be included in the list too since they also include text.
