Pierce Middle School hosting diversity event for parents with breakout sessions on “Hate Speech” and “Restorative Justice”

Pierce Middle School is hosting an event titled “Parent University: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Pierce” on February 23, 2023. The event is for parents and will include breakout sessions titled “Hate Speech & the LGBTQ+ Community” and “Restorative Justice.” The general session will be on the topic of “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.” The “Hate Speech” breakout session will be hosted by a student from the school’s district – Milton Public Schools. The school shared the following flyer for the event.

In a Facebook post from February 6, 2023, the school explains: “The event will offer a series of short educational and skill building workshops for parents and caregivers that will focus on promoting and supporting the academic, social and emotional wellbeing of children and teens through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion.”
