The Monona Grove School District has a “Gender & Sexuality Alliance” website for students and families regarding LGBTQ issues. The page for families notably has resources titled “How to Support Your LGBTQ+ Child,” “How to Be Supportive of LGBTQ People,” “Guide to Being a Straight Ally,” and “Transgender Children & Youth: Understanding the Basics.” One resource on the school district’s website is titled “UW Health’s Pediatric and Adolescent Transgender Health (PATH) Clinic.”
This resource links to a page promoting gender transitions for minors from the University of Wisconsin Hospital (UW Health). The hospital’s page is titled “Supporting transgender, nonbinary, gender questioning and gender diverse youth.” UW Health explains “that this is a hard time for many of our LBGTQ+ patients and families.” Services include “observation, advocacy, and guidance to puberty suppression and gender-affirming hormone therapy.” The hospital explains that personalized support and treatments include “gender-affirming hormone therapy,” “hormone/puberty suppression,” “mental health counseling,” and “support services for kids and families.”
