Hopewell Elementary School promotes pride month on social media with staff wearing “Free Mom Hugs” shirts

On June 17, 2024, Hopewell Elementary School in New Jersey posted on X: “Some HES staff showing support for the LGBTQ+ members of our community during Pride Month.” A few staff members in the post’s image were wearing pride-themed shirts that state “Free Mom Hugs.” The slogan on these shirts appear to imply that the staff will provide hugs that the children’s mothers may not in referencing LGBTQ identities.
