Total paid to consultants for race-based programming: $730,000

Folsom Cordova Unified School District currently runs race-based and sex-based programming focusing on “young men of color” and “Black female students.” The district has paid out $730,000 to two consultants to run these programs for the district.

On June 17, 2024, the Folsom Cordova Unified School District approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the consultant Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) through June 1, 2025, for programming for “young men of color.”

On December 17, 2020, the district approved a three year MOU with the consultant for a total of $450,000. The agreement approved the implementation of a mentoring program for “African-American male students to get them to and graduate from college.”



The district also appears to contract with the Earth Mama Healing Network Inc. to facilitate programming for Black females.

A June 6, 2024, annual report states that program goals and objectives includes empowering “Black girls by fostering their academic success” and engaged in race-based summits and campaigns.

According to a July 2024 purchase order report, the district paid the consultant $90,000 for “program for AA girls (equity).”

A July 2023 purchase order report shows that the district paid the consultant $80,000 for the race-based programming.


A discussion about the expansion of both programs took place November 21, 2024, board meeting. The board recommended not expanding the race-based and sex-based programming.
