Children’s Hospital of Chicago’s Gender and Sex Development Program provides training to teachers in District 65

Incidents

The Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago’s Gender and Sex Development Program provided training “each District 65 school.” The trainings were coordinated through the director of Equity and Family/Community Engagement. This district serves Evanston and Skokie and is comprised and does not go beyond grade 8 so the trainings were for elementary and middle school teachers.

According to budget documents from 2019, the district budgeted $13,800 in fees to Lurie Children’s Hospital—it is unclear from these documents what services were rendered though it seems likely that they were for the LGBTQ+ and Gender Identity trainings.

This hospital also performs gender related surgeries on minors so one must wonder about the professional and financial incentive of their work in schools. “Top surgery” in the tweet below refers to the removal of healthy breasts from adolescent girls at the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
