Alpine Schools asks students to write about ‘white privilege’

The Alpine School District in Utah promotes a plan called “Student Educational Equity” on its website. It includes a link to CASEL, or the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning, which features an “Equity and SEL” guide. This program includes “socio-emotional learning” with an “explicit goal of promoting educational equity.”

A whistleblower alleged that his daughters had a ninth grade history teacher whose first assignment asked students to write an essay about how they have “white privilege.”
