ACLU Files Complaint with Office of Civil Rights Against Central Bucks School District for Cutting Ties with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Gender and Sexuality Clinic

Incidents

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed an Office of Civil Rights (OCR) complaint against the Central Bucks School District, claiming that the school maintains “a hostile environment for LGBTQ+ students, and especially gender non-conforming, students.”

According to the ACLU, this hostile environment includes the school district’s administration announcing “a forthcoming directive prohibiting teachers from using students’ preferred names and pronouns without parental consent” and that the administration “abruptly ended the district’s relationship with the Gender and Sexuality Clinic at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.”
