The Iowa City School District encouraged staff to participate in a series of Equity Courses on issues such as race, gender, and sexual orientation. Some of the prominent trainings offered are “Ethnomathematics: The Study of Math as a Cultural Activity” and “WE ARE EVERYWHERE: Paris is Burning”:
