Washington Unified School District appears to be currently running race and sex-based programming focusing on “young men of color” and “Black female students.” The district has paid over $538,000 to the two organizations to run these programs.

Improve Your Tomorrow, Inc. was also part of a Department of Education “Full Service Community Schools Program” grant from 2022.

Washington Unified School District signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the consultant Improve Your Tomorrow, Inc. (IYT) for programming exclusively for “young men of color” from September 24, 2024, through June 30, 2025 at a cost of $123,000.

In 2022, the Department of Education awarded a $2,488,998 Full Service Community Schools Program grant to the United Way California Capital Region which included Improve Your Tomorrow, Inc as a coalition partner.

On September 8, 2022, the district approved an MOU with United Way California Capital Region in a partnership to “implement two full-service community schools” in district.

It is unclear how much of the grant funds were distributed to Improve Your Tomorrow, Inc.

Washington Unified School District signed an agreement with the consultant Project Sankofa for its “African American Scholars Program” which runs from October 24, 2024 to June 5, 2025 for a total cost of $95,000.

The services overview states that the consultant will operate a “small group program for black girls in high school” and “aims to provide a supportive and empowering space for participants to explore their identities, address unique challenges, and develop valuable skills for personal and academic success.”
