Seattle Public Schools middle school teacher has students write cards to Moms for Liberty accusing them of “bullying LGBTQ youth and families”

On November 25, 2023, Moms for Liberty posted on X that the organization received a package from a middle school teacher and GSA coordinator at Seattle Public Schools. This teacher had middle school students create cards promoting LGBTQ causes specifically for Moms for Liberty. The teacher stated in a letter included in the package: “Please read the enclosed cards from concerned middle school students in Seattle, Washington.”

Several of the cards had the exact same message that appeared to be organized by an adult: “Dear Moms for Liberty, Stop bullying and excluding LGBTQ youth and families.” Multiple cards from students showed a broken heart with the text: “My heart when people are homophobic.” Multiple cards also had the text: “Gay is slay.” One specific card mentioned: “The oppressed are always the protagonists.”

Moms for Liberty received a package from a teacher at Seattle Public Schools.
The package was from a teacher who had students send cards to Moms for Liberty in support of LGBTQ causes.
The cards from students appeared to be directed by an adult.

On November 26, 2023, the reporter Ari Hoffman posted on X that he emailed the school, district, and teacher regarding the package and student cards. He said that he received an auto-response from the teacher’s email that stated: “I am currently on a leave of absence and not checking email.”

A reporter said that the teacher’s email had an auto-response stating that she was on a “leave of absence.”
