Who is Harry Weaver?

According to his LinkedIn profile, Weaver is a principal consultant with Intentional Diversity Solutions, LLC, based in Canton, Michigan. He was education director at the Anti-Defamation League from 2011 through 2018. In February 2020, he said he started a fellowship with the Detroit Equity Action Lab. He said he was named “diversity, equity and school culture consultant” with Chippewa Valley Schools, based in Clinton Township, Michigan.

The company isn’t registered with the Michigan Secretary of State.

What K-12 work has  Harry Weaver done? 

On Sept. 3, 2020, the Michigan Council for Social Studies hosted a panel discussion on “race and racism,” moderated by Sean McBrady from Macomb ISD.The panel included Marshall Collins from Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District, Harry Weaver from Chippewa Valley Schools and Anthony Lewis from the Michigan Department of Civil Rights.

In January 2020, Chippewa Valley Schools, based in Clinton Township, Michigan, hired Harry Weaver at a rate of $45 per hour, according to a local media report. 

The report said: “Weaver is contracted for $45 per hour without benefits and the position is funded through a grant, meaning no general fund money is utilized. He has experience as a facilitator of anti-bias/diversity and inclusion training, as well as program design. He worked as an education director, certified trainer and facilitator for the Anti-Defamation League for a number of years. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Michigan and is married with two children. Weaver will address all teachers and administrators during the district’s professional learning day on Jan. 20.”
