CAIR says its “vision is to be a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding” and its “mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.”
What K-12 work has the Council on American-Islamic Relations done?
In CAIR’s Oregon chapter, CAIR board chair Zakir Khan’s LinkedIn account states that his work includes: “advise national organizations, state lawmakers, and school districts on how to implement better diversity, equity, and inclusion policies into practice and policy.”

In 2017, CAIR signed a memorandum of understanding with the San Diego Unified School District to teach in the classroom, under the pretense of “anti-bullying” material. After parent and community protest at the insertion of religious propaganda in the classroom, the school district canceled the contract.
