As a parent or educator, you deserve to know when a child is struggling—and who they’re turning to for help.

But groups like the Trevor Project have inserted themselves into schools and crisis hotlines, driving a wedge between parents and their children and offering dangerous advice to minors.

That changed this week.

Thanks to your support, Defending Education’s years of research and advocacy just led to a major shift: HHS is pulling federal funding from the Trevor Project’s role in the 988 Suicide Hotline.

That’s huge. But there’s more work to be done.

Defending Ed is working to:

  • Promote clear communication between schools, families, and mental health providers.
  • Ensure all crisis resources are safe, effective, and accountable to communities.
  • Support policies that prioritize both student well-being and parental involvement.

Your support can make this vision a reality. Will you make a tax-deductible gift of any amount below to help us continue to keep parents informed about what’s happening in their child’s classroom?

Thank you for helping Defending Ed empower parents and protect their rights.
