Washington State University ethnic courses feature content such as tenets of critical race theory, intersectionality, microaggressions, white privilege, and whiteness.

The course CES 101.4: Introduction to Comparative Ethnic Studies includes topics such as activism, tenets of critical race theory, intersectionality, “colorblind racism,” microaggressions, “systems of privilege,” white privilege, and whiteness. Course texts include Peggy McIntosh’s White Privilege and Male Privilege: A Personal Account of Coming to See Correspondences Through Work in Women’s Studies.

The course description states that it introduces students to the “construction and development of race and ethnicity in US society and how it relates, connects, and operates with other forces such as gender and class.”
