On September 9, 2025, the Tamalpais Union High School District board approved a nine day trip to Havana, Cuba for ninety high school students. Students from Tamalpais High School’s Academy of Integrated Humanities and New Media (AIM) and chaperones are slated to depart on February 9, 2026, and return on February 18, 2026.

The stated “Purpose of the Trip” is as listed as a “cultural exchange with Cuban high school students.” It continues: “AIM students will make art student profile videos in DIMS. AIM students will enhance learning of Cuban government and American/Cuban relations as an extension of the Tam Government curriculum.”

According to prior board documentation, the high school program took 80 students to Cuba in 2024 facilitated by AC Journeys / Anthropologie Consulting, LLC. The proposed itinerary for the trip included a visit to the Museum of the Revolution, a walking tour of Havana, and a “Tobacco Farm Experience.”
