San Mateo-Foster City Schools distributes ‘Oppression Matrix’ and ‘Social Justice Books’

Incidents

On June 2, 2020, in San Mateo-Foster City School District in California, Baywood Elementary School Principal Amanda Driscoll and Assistant Principal Deborah Robert sent a ‘Principal’s Message’ to parents about the importance of “talking to our children about race and the importance of equity for all people.” The message included a link to Social Justice Books as well as a link to Learning for Justice, formerly Teaching Tolerance (an project of the Southern Poverty Law Center.)

The Oppression Matrix below was provided by the school and shared with us by a parent.
