Robinson Secondary School’s Muslim Student Association promoted staged walkout in protest against Israel; accused Israel of “genocide” on Instagram

A concerned community member reached out to Parents Defending Education regarding a planned “walkout” protest that was organized by the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at Robinson Secondary School within Fairfax County Public Schools. In a post on Instagram dated November 9, 2023, the MSA promoted the “walkout” occurring on the same day and accused Israel of committing “genocide.” The student organization stated:

TODAY’S walkout is not a place to express hate. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the atrocities in palestine, and honor the lives lost in this genocide*
Be respectful and come support!

The Instagram post also included a flyer that stated the walkout was “in solidarity with Palestine.”

The school’s MSA accused Israel of committing “genocide.”

Another post on the MSA’s Instagram page dated November 12, 2023, mentioned how the group was “incredibly grateful” for those who participated in the walkout and told students to “please continue educating yourselves and your peers.”

The MSA encouraged students to “continue educating yourselves and your peers.”
