Nova Classical Academy promotes ‘cultural competency training’ and Ibram Kendi book

On June 30, 2020, Nova Classical Academy Executive Director Dr. Brett Wedlund sent its community an email, with the subject line, “Steps to an Equitable Nova.”

The steps included: “cultural competency training” by Dr. Cushing-Luebner, with “expanded training” in November 2020; summer 2020 “book study” of “How to Be An Antracist” by Ibram X. Kendi; summer 2020 student reading recommendations, including “Antiracist Baby” by Kendi; and “discussion about equity,” facilitated by the counseling department.
