Sources tell Parents Defending Education that the Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE), which is an affiliate of NEA and AFT, is offering trainings based in critical race theory (CRT) for all of Montana’s public teachers and staff. CRT and similarly ideologically driven practices are illegal and are not allowed in our public schools per the Office of Public Instruction superintendent.

Per MFPE’s website:

On May 27, 2021, Montana Attorney General, Austin Knudsen, issued a binding ruling on CRT in public schools.
