Milwaukee Public Schools is promoting online teaching students to support the Black Lives Matter movement in this year’s “Black Lives Matter Week of Action” from February 5 through February 9, 2024. The school district states: “The Milwaukee community will have opportunities to listen, learn, and add their voices to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) narrative to bring about positive change. Leading off Black History Month in February, the Black Lives Matter Week of Action is designed to engage the community in topics related to the principles of Black Lives Matter.” The school district has a document of events that will take place throughout the week to promote the BLM movement.

On Monday, the school district will have an “Intergenerational Night” that will have “a panel of adults and youths of varying ages [who] will explore topics related to Black lives and the principles of Black Lives Matter, to support the fostering of collectivity, community, and justice.” On Tuesday, the district will hold a “Collective Value In-School Activity” to bring “awareness of the Black Lives Matter principles and the importance of our collective value.”

On Wednesday, there will be a panel called “Real Men Talkback” for male leaders to “engage in open dialogue with male youth about embodying and practicing justice, liberation, and peace in our engagements with one another.” On Thursday, the school district will hold a “Collective Value Activity Night” to also bring “awareness of the Black Lives Matter principles and the importance of our collective value.”

On Friday, the school district will hold a “Kuumba Student Showcase.” The district states: “Students will showcase their creativity through the power of their voice and other talents, in song, dance, storytelling, and other art forms. All participants are encouraged to wear their new Black Lives Matter T-shirts.”

On October 9, 2023, the grassroots arm of Black Lives Matter shared a statement on X accusing Israel of “apartheid.” The organization then stated that it “stands in solidarity with our Palestinian family who are currently resisting 57 years of settler colonialism and apartheid.”

The BLM chapter of Chicago also posted an image on X of a Hamas terrorist paraglider with the phrase “I stand with Palestine.”

The New York Post saved a screenshot of the BLM paraglider post.
