Milwaukee Public Schools holds contest for students promoting Black lives Matter at School despite organization accusing Israel of “apartheid” and “attempted genocide”

Milwaukee Public Schools is promoting a “contest to design the MPS 2023-24 Black Lives Matter at School T-shirt.” The contest is specifically designated for students. The deadline for the contest is October 19, 2023. The design that wins will be “featured on the MPS Black Lives Matter at School 2023-24 T-shirts.” The student who wins will also receive a $100 gift card and four shirts. The school will provide forms for students to order the shirts. Students are told to “create a design using two or three colors” if participating in the contest.

Milwaukee Public Schools is promoting Black Lives Matter at School despite the organization appearing to support the terrorist group Hamas. On October 17, 2023, Black Lives Matter at School published a statement accusing Israel of “settler colonialism, land dispossession, occupation, blockade, apartheid, and attempted genocide of millions of Palestinians.” The organization said the curricula taught to students “must include Palestinian existence, resistance, culture, global contributions, and the ongoing struggle to realize a free Palestine.”

Black Lives Matter at School appeared to publish a statement in support of Hamas.
