Leander ISD adopts educational equity policy “to overcome identity-predictable disparities between our students”

Leander ISD acknowledges and takes ownership of the past and
present inequities that exist in our system. These inequities have
resulted in disparities in the educational and societal advancement
of all our students. The District recognizes that continuing the
status quo will only perpetuate the inequity within our public
schools.

Note: Discipline referrals are much higher for boys than girls. Will the district work to eliminate that demographic disparity?

Note: the district promises to strengthen the emphasis in the Student and Staff Codes and Standards of Conduct in addressing speech or acts against individuals/groups based on self-reported identities.
