Georgetown ISD creates a community equity design team to “gain a holistic view of system wide inequities”


Georgetown ISD’s Community Equity Design Team posted two videos on their equity webpage. The first video, The Learning Organizational Connection, talks of monthly equity training and a book study on Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain by Zaretta Lynn Hammond.

The second video, Equity-Focused Strategic Planning, says. “Only when we equip ourselves to see the role of implicit bias, systemic racism, structural racialization, and poverty play, and perpetuating achievement gaps…only when we possess a shared understanding of the need for change will we be able to create impactful strategies that address the root causes of inequitable learning outcomes in our system.”
