Falcon Heights Elementary invites parents to be “antiracists” and join teachers in reading the work of Ibram X. Kendi (for teachers, the book is mandatory)

Incidents

In a newsletter published March 25th, 2021, Falcon Heights Elementary School in Roseville, Minnesota, laid out their new statement of purpose in becoming an “antiracist” organization:

The newsletter states that teachers will be using works from Learning for Justice, a subsidiary group of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SLPC), to “…gather information about teaching in an antiracist manner.” In order to further this learning, the school is having teachers read Ibram X. Kendi’s “How to Be an Antiracist” and invites parents to join in.
