Denver Schools states ‘All educators need to deeply understand white supremacy, white privilege…’

On Sept. 6, 2020, Denver Public Schools issued a training document entitled, “DPS Belief in and Commitment to Black Excellence,” which mentions Black Lives Matter and existence of “Institutional Racism.” A whistleblower teacher reports that it outlined an “acknowledgement of harm that has been done, what we believe is foundational to change, and what we commit to do now.” The document also states that “all educators need to deeply understand white supremacy, white privilege and the prevalence and deep harm ‘whiteness’ brings to students and team members.”
