Community High School District 99 funded a 115-page equity report for the 2019-2020 school year. The report provides detailed data on the district’s students by race, gender, and to a certain extent language. The report states: “Educational equity is critical, and it cultivates courageous unraveling of power and privilege among individuals and within institutions.”

The report then argues in favor of why “equity” is more important to achieve than “equality.”

Community High School District 99 also states that its “equity, inclusion, and diversity work is the foundation of the Social-Emotional and Academic growth of each student.” The district appeared to force educators to take part in equity training: “In addition, all district faculty and staff are participating in six 80-minute trainings during Late Start Mondays throughout the school year.”
