Berkeley High School teacher displays image to class of a fist destroying the Star of David over Israel

On October 19, 2023, University of Berkeley professor Shamik Dasgupta shared a post on X of a teacher at Berkeley High School displaying an image to the students in his class that was supposed to be an example of “standing up for social justice.” The professor explained that the image was “a fist with a hammer plowing through a Star of David.” On the right of the image, a poster can be seen on the wall with someone holding up a Palestinian flag with the phrase: “Tear down the Apartheid wall!”
