5th grade teacher at Westridge Elementary School distributes handout with excerpts written by BLM Co-Founder; principal says it is not an approved resource

Incidents

Some fifth grade parents at Westridge Elementary School in the Rockwood School District were concerned when they saw a paper come home from school with writings by Alicia Garza, co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement. When Parents Defending Education reached out to principal Dan Geiseler, he said “this was used by a teacher and is not a Rockwood approved resource. I am working with the teacher to ensure that only Rockwood curricular resources are used when teaching lessons.”
