On May 1, 2025, The Public Schools of Brookline (MA) approved a resolution critical of the Massachusetts Teachers Association’s (MTA) curricular materials related to the “Israel-Gaza Conflict,” and cautioning district staff about the use of such materials.

The resolution states that the materials “contain unambiguous antisemitic elements,” “impact the Jewish community and are offensive,” “undermine a balanced and fair presentation of this international issue,” and that the “use of these materials in any school district could create an environment that undermines the values of impartial education and mutual respect among students and staff of diverse backgrounds.”

The school committee resolution states that it “strongly cautions our District staff about utilizing the MTA’s materials related to the Israel-Gaza conflict.”
