The Madison Metropolitan School District has a page online titled “LGBTQIA+ Equity in MMSD.” The district uses the page to promote gender ideology to young students. The page features several notable organizations that specifically target youth, including the Trevor Project, Human Rights Campaign, Trans Lifeline, Q Chat Space, and Gender Spectrum. One resource that the school district created in 2018 is a document titled “Guidance & Policies to Support Transgender, Non-binary & Gender-Expansive Students.”
The district’s document contains a resource titled “Pediatric & Adolescent Transgender Health (PATH) Clinic” that links to a page promoting gender transitions for minors from the University of Wisconsin Hospital (UW Health). The hospital’s page is titled “Supporting transgender, nonbinary, gender questioning and gender diverse youth.” UW Health explains “that this is a hard time for many of our LBGTQ+ patients and families.” Services include “observation, advocacy, and guidance to puberty suppression and gender-affirming hormone therapy.” The hospital explains that personalized support and treatments include “gender-affirming hormone therapy,” “hormone/puberty suppression,” “mental health counseling,” and “support services for kids and families.”
