    Right now, 1,216 school districts across the country have adopted policies allowing school staff to facilitate the social transition of a child to a different gender identity – using a different name, pronouns and restrooms/locker rooms – without telling parents.

  • Question 2 – Race-Based Programs & DEI in Schools


    Across the country, school districts spend millions of taxpayer dollars on consultants and programs that separate students and teachers by race, prioritize race-based hiring, and prioritize “equity” over academic achievement.

    Defending Education has filed federal civil rights complaints against school districts in Chicago, Portland, Minneapolis, and others – and several are now under formal investigation by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.

    Title IX was passed to guarantee equal opportunities for female students. But today, policies at schools and universities across the country force girls to share locker rooms, restrooms, and athletic competitions with biological males.

    In fact, one Defending Education client’s daughter was forced to compete against a male athlete in a state track championship.

Defending Education built the IndoctriNation Map – a first-of-its-kind national database documenting radical policies, incidents, and curricula across thousands of school districts. Our investigative team uses public records requests to expose what officials try to hide.

    Schools are supposed to be places where students learn how to think, not what to think. But across the country, school districts adopt speech codes that punish disfavored viewpoints and invite activists into classrooms to push an ideological agenda.

    Defending Education has filed First Amendment lawsuits against school districts in New York and Ohio, and defeated an unconstitutional speech code policy in Iowa.
